Make.com account

Create the Make.com account where all four automations will live.

Already have a Make.com account? Check you can log in and move on to the next lesson. This one is for setting up from scratch.

By the end you will have a verified Make.com account, set up and ready. Every automation in this course lives there. A later lesson connects it to your Google Drive and your Etsy shop.

One thing to know now: Make’s free plan allows two scenarios, and this system uses four. You can set everything up and test on the free plan, but to run all four you will need Make’s cheapest paid plan. Start here has the full list of costs.

A note on the video. The video mentions a sign-up link below it. You do not need one: go straight to make.com as in step 1. The dashboard shown in the video may look slightly different from yours, because Make updates its screens often.

Steps

  1. Open the sign-up page. Go to make.com and choose to sign up.
  2. Choose email and password. You will see Google, Facebook and GitHub options as well. Email and password is easier to manage, and easier to share securely if you ever need help.
  3. Enter your details. Your full name, your email address, and a strong password. Follow the password rules until Make marks it as secure.
  4. Pick a data region, EU or US. Choose the one closest to you. Both work. Stay consistent: your later setup should use the same region.
  5. Verify your email. Open the email from Make and click Verify Email. Once that is done you can log in whenever you like.
  6. Answer the first-time questions. Make asks how you heard about it, your experience level, your team size (pick Only Me if you work alone) and which apps you plan to use. Type Etsy into the Other Apps field. For what you plan to build, anything honest will do, for example “I want to use automation to help my Etsy shop grow.”
  7. Click Get Started. You are in. The dashboard will make more sense once you start building in the later lessons.

Keep in mind

  • Use email and password rather than a social login, so you keep flexibility later.
  • EU or US both work. Just stay consistent.
  • Add Etsy to your apps during setup.
  • Keep your login details somewhere safe. You will need them again soon.

Next: set up your OpenAI account and API key.
