Listing images

Name, format and store your ten listing images so the system finds them in the right order.

The system needs to know exactly where your listing images are, and which is which. It relies on two things: where the files are stored, and how they are named. Get both right and the images arrive in Etsy in the right order.

If you manage more than one shop, each shop has its own Drive structure, so use the Listings folder that belongs to that shop’s setup.

Steps

  1. Know where they go. Images live in Automate Etsy / Images / Listings. This is the folder the automation reads.
  2. Prepare ten images per product. Etsy allows ten listing images, and the system expects all ten. Do not run the automation until every image is uploaded and has finished syncing.
  3. Name them with the product SKU. Use the format SKUxxxxx-1, SKUxxxxx-2 and so on up to -10. For example, if your SKU is DGT001, the files are DGT001-1, DGT001-2, up to DGT001-10.
    • The SKU must match your form entry exactly.
    • The number sets the image order in Etsy.
    • Use a dash. Do not use spaces or underscores.
    • Wrong names can break the automation, skip images or cause errors.
  4. Use the right file format. JPEG or PNG only. Do not use PDF, ZIP or PSD files. Aim for 2000 to 3000 pixels on the long edge, a consistent aspect ratio, and under 3MB per image.
  5. Upload them. Prepare the images on your computer first, then upload all ten to Automate Etsy / Images / Listings. Wait a few minutes for syncing to finish before you run the automation.
  6. Keep the folder clean. The system does not delete old images. Every few weeks, open the Listings folder and remove images you no longer need.

Keep in mind

  • Always name files SKU, dash, number, for example DGT001-1 to DGT001-10.
  • Wait for uploads to finish before you run anything.
  • A tidy Listings folder keeps the automation running smoothly.
