Customer download PDF

Etsy lets you attach a file to a digital listing. The file your buyers receive is a PDF containing the link to their download in your Google Drive. This lesson sets up the template for that PDF. App 3 later uses it to produce one for every product.

One Drive installation serves one Etsy shop. If you run more than one shop, repeat the foundation lessons for each, and name this template after its shop, for example YourShopName Download Template. Write the name down. You will need it when you install App 3.

The Word template is in the Skool group, or on your members page on the guided route. Download it first.

Steps

1. Download the template from the Skool group or your members page. It is a simple Word document.
2. Open Automate Etsy / Docs / Templates in Google Drive. This is where the template will live.
3. Upload the file by dragging the Word document into the Templates folder, and wait for the upload to finish.
4. Convert it properly. Do not create a blank Google Doc and paste the text in. Click the uploaded Word file, then choose Open with, then Google Docs. That converts it correctly.
5. Make it yours. Add your logo or banner, update the message, and add your website or Etsy shop link. Keep the design clean and simple. Google Docs saves automatically. Leave the download link placeholder in place, because App 3 fills in each buyer’s link.
6. Delete the Word file. You now have both the .docx and the Google Doc. Right-click the .docx and choose Move to trash. The Google Doc is your template.

Keep in mind

• One download template per Etsy shop, named after the shop.
• Always convert with Open with Google Docs.
• Keep the layout simple.
• Delete the original .docx once it is converted.
