Google Workspace
Set up the paid Google Workspace account that holds your Drive folders, Form and Sheet, and connects reliably to Make.
Your Drive folders, Google Form and Google Sheet all live in a Google Workspace account. This system needs a paid Workspace account because Make’s Google modules connect to it reliably. A free Gmail account needs a custom Google Cloud OAuth setup, which this course does not cover.
A Workspace account also gives you a business email address on your own domain, 2TB of Drive storage, and the Google tools you will use throughout the course. Already have a Workspace account? Check you can sign in and move on.
Steps
- Go to Google Workspace. Visit workspace.google.com and click Get Started.
- Have a domain name ready. Workspace needs a domain, which is your website name. If you do not own one yet, you can buy one from a domain provider such as Dynadot. Come back to the sign-up once it is ready.
- Enter your business details. Your shop or brand name, the number of employees (just you), and your country. Click Next.
- Create your business email, for example [email protected].
- Choose a plan. Business Standard includes 2TB of storage, which is plenty for product files, images and automation data. Prices vary by country, so check what Google quotes you.
- Add your payment details and start your trial or activate the plan. You will get a confirmation email.
- Check you can reach your tools. Drive holds every automation folder. Docs, Sheets and Forms are used throughout the course.
Keep in mind
- Everything in the course happens inside this one account, so use it consistently.
- A domain-based email is also a more trustworthy address to put on your shop.
- Plans can grow with your business.
Next: set up your Google Drive structure.
