Product listing template

By the end of this lesson your spreadsheet holds a listing template for each product type, so every Etsy description adapts to the product while keeping your voice.

Open your Digital Products spreadsheet, in Automate Etsy / Collections / Digital Products, and go to the Product Templates tab. This tab is the control panel for your descriptions.

How a description is built

Every description the system writes has three parts:

1. An AI-written section, written for your product and your buyer persona.
2. Your template section, the reusable text for the product type, such as the format and what is included.
3. A short SEO paragraph at the end that ties the listing together with keywords.

The template is the part you control. It is worth getting right.

A note on the video. The video uses JPG and PNG as its examples. Use the Product Type options that are in your own form, and give each one a template, as the steps here describe.

Steps

1. Open the Product Templates tab. Row 1 holds a column header for each product type.
2. Match the headers to your form. Each header must match a Product Type option in your Google Form exactly: same wording, same capitalization, same spelling. If the form offers JPG, the column header is JPG. Avoid spaces in the option names. If you add or rename an option in the form, add or rename the matching column here.
3. Write your template under each header. In the cell directly below the header, write the text for that product type. For example, under JPG you might write: “High-quality JPG files with soft backgrounds, perfect for planners, journals and crafts.”
4. Check the voice. Read each template aloud. It should sound like your shop: friendly, plain and consistent. A small personal line works well, such as “Designed with love to inspire your creative projects.”
5. Save. Click outside the cell. Google Sheets saves automatically.

Keep in mind

• The Product Templates tab controls the reusable section of every description.
• Headers must match the form’s Product Type options exactly.
• The system merges your template with the AI-written copy later, so polish the template now.
