App 4: listing images organiser
Install App 4, which finds your ten listing images by name, shares them, and writes their links back to your Sheet.
The video for this lesson is titled Automation 5. App 4 finds up to ten listing images for each product, sets their sharing so Etsy can fetch them, and passes the links on to App 5.
The blueprint file is in the Skool group, or on your members page on the guided route. Download it if you have not already.
Before you start
- App 3 is finished.
- Your Drive folders are ready, with your ten images named and uploaded as described in the listing images lesson.
- Your Google Sheet is connected.
A note on the video. This video still shows you creating a webhook for App 5 and pasting its URL into the second purple module. Do not do that. Choose App 5 from the scenario call dropdown instead, as step 8 below describes. The scenario call replaced the webhook, and the blueprint is already built for it.
Steps
- Install App 4. Create a new scenario, import the App 4 blueprint and click Save. If you have not yet pointed App 3’s purple scenario call at App 4, do that now.
- Leave the starter module alone. The first module starts App 4 when App 3 calls it. Do not change it. Scroll to the first Google Sheets module.
- Link the Google Sheets module. Select your Google account and the spreadsheet Automate Etsy / Collections / Digital Products / Digital Products. Refresh the dropdown, select any tab, then switch it to Product Data. Click Save. This locks your data connection.
- Connect Google Drive for your listing images. Open the first Google Drive module and connect your Drive account if needed. Navigate to Automate Etsy / Images / Listings and select it. Click Save.
- Repeat for all ten image modules. There is one module per image slot. For each, select the same Drive account and the same Listings folder, then Save. Some sellers use all ten slots for product photos. Others include fixed images, such as branding or licence pages, among their ten uploads. Either way, ten files per product.
- Know what happens behind the scenes. App 4 scans your Listings folder for files named in the SKU, dash, number format, for example SKU123-1 up to SKU123-10. It then updates the sharing permissions and creates a link for each image. Those links are used in the next app.
- Reconnect your Google Sheet. Scroll to the next Google Sheets module. Use the same account and spreadsheet. Refresh, select Form Responses 1, then switch it to Product Data. Click Save. This writes the image links back to your Sheet.
- Link App 4 to App 5. The last module is a dark purple scenario call. Install App 5 first (see the next lesson), then come back here, open that module and choose App 5 from the dropdown. Click Save.
Keep in mind
- App 4 organises your images and creates their links.
- Name files SKU-1 to SKU-10 and keep them in Automate Etsy / Images / Listings.
- Every one of the ten image modules must point at the same Listings folder.
- Save and refresh modules to clear errors.
Next: App 5, the last one.
