App 3: Drive folder and customer PDF

Install App 3, which creates each product's Drive folder and customer download PDF, and link it on to App 4.

The video for this lesson is titled Automation 4. App 3 creates a Drive folder for each product, builds the customer download PDF from your template, and passes the product on to App 4.

The blueprint file is in the Skool group, or on your members page on the guided route. Download it if you have not already.

Before you start

  • App 2 is finished.
  • Your Google Sheet is connected.
  • Your Drive folders are set up.
  • Your customer PDF template is in Automate Etsy / Docs / Templates.

A note on the video. This video still shows you creating a webhook for App 4 and pasting its URL into a purple module. Do not do that. Choose App 4 from the scenario call dropdown instead, as step 8 below describes. The scenario call replaced the webhook, and the blueprint is already built for it.

Steps

  1. Install App 3. In Make, create a new scenario, import the App 3 blueprint and click Save. A temporary error is fine. Saving is what makes App 3 appear in App 2’s dropdown. If you have not yet pointed App 2’s purple scenario call modules at App 3, do that now.
  2. Check the first module. The first module starts App 3 when App 2 calls it. Leave it as it is and click Save.
  3. Link your Google Sheets modules. There are two near the start.
    • First module: select your Google account and the spreadsheet Automate Etsy / Collections / Digital Products / Digital Products. Refresh the sheet list, select any tab, then switch it to Product Data. Click Save. If a red dot stays, click Save again.
    • Second module: same connection and same spreadsheet. Refresh, select any tab, then switch it to Prompt Data. Click Save.
  4. Connect Google Drive. Approve the permissions if this is the first time. Navigate to Automate Etsy / Products and select your shop folder. App 3 creates a new folder for each product here. Click Save.
  5. Connect Google Docs and choose your PDF template. Select your Google account and grant permission if asked. Navigate to Automate Etsy / Docs / Templates and select your download template, the one you named in the customer PDF lesson. This template controls the layout, branding and links on the PDF, so check it before you save. Click Save.
  6. Go through the remaining modules in order. For each Google Docs or Drive module, select your account and Save.
  7. Finish with the last Google Sheets module. Use the same spreadsheet. Refresh, select another tab, then switch it to Product Data. Click Save. This writes the final file links back to your Sheet.
  8. Link App 3 to App 4. The last module is a dark purple scenario call. Install App 4 first (see the next lesson), then come back here, open that module and choose App 4 from the dropdown. Click Save.

Keep in mind

  • App 3 makes a folder and a customer PDF for each product.
  • Each Google service needs a one-time connection.
  • Always select your own Digital Products spreadsheet.
  • The PDF template lives in Automate Etsy / Docs / Templates.
  • Save and refresh often to clear red dots.

Next: App 4.
